Whiting students tell us why they celebrate their moms
WHITING — Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 8.
The Addison Independent asked students at Whiting Elementary School to tell us why they celebrate their moms on Mother’s Day. Here’s what they said:
Ms. Van De Weert’s 4, 5 and 6 class
“I appreciate my mom because she cooks the deer and turkey that I shoot, even though she doesn’t like it.” – Mikey, age 11
“I love my mom because she is funny, kind, sweet, and snuggles with me.” – Morgan, age 10
“I am honored that my mom take time to drive me and support me at all of my soccer, basketball, and baseball games.” – Aiden, age 10
“My mom supports all of my thoughts and ideas, and I also appreciate all the ways she helps me.” – Delaney, age 9
“I appreciate that my mom cooks me food, drives me places, and comes to all of my baseball games.” – Cody, age 12
“I appreciate my mom because she helps me with my homework and feeds me.” – Dylan, age 12
“It’s great that my mom supports my ideas and is there for me when I need her.” – Tyler, age 11
“I am thankful that my mom is always there to help me when I get hurt.” – John, age 11
“I love that my mom brings our family on vacation in the summertime.” – Devin, age 11
Mrs. Wisnowski’s 2, 3 and 4 class
“My mom comes to my games so that I feel supported.” – Lily, age 9
“I appreciate my mom because she helps me up when I fall down.” – Kaitlin, age 9
“My mom cares for us when we are sick or hurt and talks to me when I am lonely.” – Skylar, age 9
“I appreciate my mom because she pays for the sports that I want to do.” – Smith, age 9
“My mom has the best interest for me.” – Savannah, age 9
“I appreciate my mom because she lets me go places as well as buys us things I need and want.” – Connor, age 7
“I love my mom because she provides food and believes in me.” – Brady, age 8
“My mom makes me meals and watches my practices and games.” – Samuel, age 8
“I love my mom because she helps me when things are wrong.” – Sapphire, age 8
“I appreciate my mom because she pays for my shelter.” – Angelica, age 10
“My mom loves me no matter what even when she gets mad at me.” – Logan, age 7
