Free classes being offered by Vermont Adult Learning

MIDDLEBURY — Vermont Adult Learning, at 282 Boardman St. in Middlebury, is offering three free classes for adults. Two of the classes teach computer basics, and one is for people who are learning the English language.
The classes are:
Computer 101: Fridays, May 6 and 20, and June 3; 9-11 a.m.This is a hands-on introduction to the computer for people with no or with very limited computer experience. Participants will learn how to use the mouse and keyboard, and how to navigate the desktop. They will be introduced to the Internet and MS Word, and will learn how to send email. This course is available to everyone in the community and can be taken as many times as needed. Class size is limited to 8 participants so early sign-up is recommended.
Computer 201: Wednesdays, May 11 and 25, and June 8 and 22; 2-4 p.m. This interactive computer lab is intended for people who already have basic computer experience. In this hands-on class you will learn how to download and manage computer files, use Google Docs, and get an introduction to MS Excel. This course is available to everyone in the community and can be taken as many times as needed. Class size is limited to 8 participants so sign up early.
ELL (English Language Learner), Mondays and Fridays in May and, June; times vary.This 2-hour class is for people who want to learn to speak, understand, read and write English. Call or text, in English or Spanish, Mary at 802-458-4016 to learn more.
