Eagles, Tigers and Commodores each win one boys’ lax game

ADDISON COUNTY — Mount Abraham made it a season sweep of Otter Valley to highlight high school boys’ lacrosse action in the latter half of last week. Both the Eagles and Otters dropped other games, while Vergennes won its only outing and Middlebury split two contests.
EAGLES OVER OTTERS
On Wednesday, host OV earned a 4-3 halftime lead, but Mount Abe erupted in the second half for a 14-7 victory in a Division III clash. Charlie Meyer led the Eagles with five goals, including three straight to snap a 5-5 third-quarter tie, and two assists. Meyer’s strikes made it 8-5 entering the fourth, and Mount Abe pulled away in the final 12 minutes.
For the Eagles, Owein LaBarr scored three goals and added three assists, Lucas Richter scored two goals and set up three goals, Dylan Weaver notched two goals, and Phoenix King andRyan Rougier added a goal apiece. Tucker Paradee backstopped the win in goal with 14 saves.
Colton Leno netted four goals for OV, Erik Sherman scored three times, and Keenan Pratt contributed two assists. OV goalie Alec Stevens stopped 11 shots.
On Saturday, visiting D-II Stowe dealt the 4-1 Eagles their first loss, 6-5, despite Paradee’s 20 saves. Richter and Labarr scored two goals apiece, and Meyer chipped in a goal and two assists.
Also on Saturday, host Green Mt. Valley clipped OV, 16-7, dropping the Otters to 1-4. Leno again scored four goals, Will Ross tallied twice, and Pratt added one. Stevens (seven saves) and Jon McKeighan (six saves) split time in goal.
COMMODORES PREVAIL
On Saturday, the Commodores cruised by visiting Randolph, 12-7. Tyler Crowningshield (four goals, three assists), Max Ratti-Bicknell (four goals) and Tyler Kepes (three goals, two assists) took care of the offense, and in goal Broc Clark made five saves and Aaron Welt made seven stops as VUHS moved to 2-1. 
TIGERS ONE FOR TWO
On Thursday, the Tigers edged rival Woodstock, 4-3, as Trey Kaufmann scored the game winner with two minutes to go. Jack Donahue chipped in a goal and two assists, and goalies Doug DeLorenzo (two saves) and Eli Miller (nine stops) shared time.
On Saturday, host Champlain Valley topped the Tigers, 10-4. Kaufmann scored three times and DeLorenzo stopped five shots as the Tigers dipped to 2-2.
