In high school baseball: Tigers, Eagles take losses; Commodores 1 and 1

ADDISON COUNTY — in local high school baseball action late last week, Vergennes split a pair of games to break into the win column, while Middlebury and Mount Abraham each lost once.
COMMODORES
On Saturday, the Commodores erupted on offense to knock off visiting Randolph, 16-5, and improve to 2-1. Casey Kimball led the attack with four hits, four RBIs and three runs. Devon Kimball poked two hits, scored twice and drove in three runs, and Dylan Bougor added a pair of RBIs. Hunter O’Connor surrendered 13 hits, but struck out 10 in six-plus innings to earn the pitching win, and also chipped in four hits to the Commodore attack.
On Thursday, host South Burlington pounded out a 19-4 win over the Commodores.
TIGERS
On Thursday, host Champlain Valley posted an 11-0 victory over the Tigers (0-2). MUHS freshman pitcher Wyatt Cameron tossed four innings and kept CVU off the scoreboard until the fourth in his varsity debut, but the Redhawks scored four times in that inning. The Redhawks then broke the game open with five runs in the fifth.
EAGLES
On Thursday, Rice took advantage of some shaky defense behind Eagle starting pitcher Adam Whitcomb to score seven unearned runs in the second inning on the way to a 16-1 victory. Anthony Robideau poked two hits for the 0-2 Eagles.
