Lucky local lady wins Hawaii vacation
MIDDLEBURY — This year’s winner of a Hawaiian vacation, raffled off in support of area hospice services, is Nancy Malcolm of Middlebury. The Malcolms will be jetting off to the islands thanks to trip underwriter Milne Travel.
The winning ticket was drawn at the annual Lu’au, sponsored by Middlebury Inn. One hundred seventy guests were treated to numerous culinary delights, donated by area restaurants and farms, and beverages donated by local breweries and wineries.
The true benefactors of the Dream Vacation Raffle are Addison County hospice patients and families. The funds raised from the Dream Vacation Raffle will be used to sustain excellent end-of-life care for the residents of Addison County.
With community support from raffle ticket buyers, Lu’au attendees, sponsorships and countless donations from area businesses, Hospice Volunteer Services and Addison County Home Health & Hospice are able to raise money to support area hospice services. In addition, an online component to the auction through Bidding for Good helped fundraising efforts expand beyond county lines.
The patients, volunteers, staff and boards of Hospice Volunteer Services and Addison County Home Health & Hospice say mahalo (“thank you,” in Hawaiian) to the community for their continued support of hospice services in Addison County.
