Eagle boys’ lax defeats Commodores and U-32

BRISTOL — The Mount Abraham Union High School boys’ lacrosse team opened last week by winning two home games, knocking off visiting Vergennes on Wednesday and U-32 on Saturday. Otter Valley will visit the Eagles on Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. in a game moved to Bristol from Brandon.
On Wednesday, the top Eagle midfield group of Charlie Meyer (four goals, two assists), Owein Labarr (a goal, four assists) and Sam Paradee (three goals) combined for eight goals and six assists in the Eagles’ 15-12 victory over the Commodores in the opener for both teams.
Eagle attackers Lucas Richter (four goals) and Dylan Weaver (two goals) also contributed multiple scores, and midfielder Sebastian Durante added a goal in his varsity debut. Goalie Tucker Paradee backstopped the win with five saves.
Attackers Tyler Crowningshield (five goals and four assists) and Max Ratti-Bicknell (four goals, one assist) sparked the VUHS offense. Midfielders Tyler Kepes, Brett Woods and Gunnar Sonwaldt added a goal apiece, and Kepes chipped in a pair of assists. Goalie Broc Clark helped keep VUHS close with 15 saves.
On Saturday, Richter led the way with nine goals and an assist as the Eagles defeated U-32, 18-7. Meyer scored five times, Weaver contributed a goal and five assists, Labarr found the net twice, Phoenix King added a goal, and Sam Paradee chipped in a pair of the Eagles 12 assists on their 18 goals. Tucker Paradee backstopped the win with eight saves and assisted a score. Josh Carbo scored four times for U-32, and Raider goalie Max Kissner made seven saves.
