ACTR names Cunningham as director

MIDDLEBURY — Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) has selected a new regional director from a nationwide search.
Bill Cunningham of Middlebury will report to Executive Director Jim Moulton and to the locally based board of directors.
New to the transit industry, Cunningham is a seasoned Vermont Air National Guard leader who has earned several decorations for excellence. During his tenure with VTANG he founded and developed one of the nation’s top cyber schools with no start-up budget. His ties to the community include active involvement with Addison County Special Olympics, the Middlebury High School/Middlebury Union High School Alumni Association, the Lions Club and Middlebury Rotary.
“We are excited to have Bill as part of the ACTR team,” said Moulton. “With his help ACTR will be even better positioned to improve and expand services to meet the growing demand for public transportation in our region and around the state.”
ACTR is mid-way through an agreement to provide management oversight of Stagecoach Transportation of Randolph. Cunningham’s new position has an organizational counterpart at Stagecoach. Each regional director provides local day-to-day operations oversight, ensures agency compliance with accessibility and safety laws and manages transit center buildings and grounds.
“I am thrilled to join ACTR’s excellent staff and look forward to advancing the already high level of service they deliver,” said Cunningham.
