OV’s Amy Jones, Colin Eugair are set for state all-star hoop game, other locals honored

WINDSOR — Two local athletes will play in Saturday’s Vermont Basketball Coaches’ Association Senior All Star Games at Windsor High School, while two area athletes and one coach will be honored during the festivities.
Otter Valley senior Amy Jones will play for the South Division I and II all-star girls’ team that will take on its North counterparts at 3 p.m. After the deadline for the print edition, the Independent learned that fellow OV senior Collin Eugair will play in the South D-1 and 2 boys’ team that will play vs. the North team at 5 p.m. 
Two county sophomores were named to the Dream Dozen girls’ team of underclassmen that will be officially unveiled between two of the day’s four games: Middlebury Union’s Keagan Dunbar and Mount Abraham Union’s Emma Carter.
Among the coaches to be honored are Mount Abe’s Connie LaRose, who earned her 400th career victory this winter. 
Games will start at 11 a.m., with the D-III and D-IV girls’ North-South contest. At 1 p.m., the D-III and D-IV boys’ North-South game will tip off.
The D-I and D-II girls’ and boys’ North-South games will follow at 3 and 5 p.m., respectively. During halftimes of each game, three-point shooting contests will be staged.
In between games, the boys’ and girls’ Dream Dozen games will be honored, coaches who have reached 100-win milestones and players who reached 1,000 points will be recognized, Lamoille Coach Tim Messier will be inducted into the VBCA Hall of Fame, and VBCA players, coaches and officials of the year will be announced.
