Hanson’s win in the Ripton selectboard race is affirmed by recount

RIPTON — A March 4 recount of Town Meeting Day election ballots in Ripton confirmed the election of Perry Hanson over incumbent Selectman Richard Collitt, by the same 116-112 tally. Collitt had requested the recount in light of the closeness of the election.
Hanson — who, in addition to winning a seat on the town selectboard, also won election to Ripton’s seat on the new Addison Central School District board last Tuesday — was pleased with the results of the recount.
“Ripton for me is a very special place, and I am honored to have an opportunity to serve all the Ripton folks,” Hanson said. “I look forward to working with and learning from Ron Wimett and Laurie Cox, both long serving members of the Ripton selectboard.”
