Opinion: Hospital issues discussed on VPR

The VPR radio show “Vermont Edition” ran a piece on Feb. 29 about Porter Hospital. It was moderated by Jane Lindholm, and can easily be listened to online. On the show the hospital spokesperson states that employees should have no reason to fear to speak their mind, or suffer retribution for doing so.
With that in mind, I would like to say that I love Porter Hospital. I think it is a wonderful place, and I would like to do everything I can to keep it open, and to retain as many of our great and caring doctors, nurses and staff as possible. I hope the hospital board will listen to the VPR show, especially the comments from the doctor, the nurse and the public who phoned in.
