Beauchamp wrestles to 100th victory
ST. JOHNSBURY — Middlebury Union High School senior Nick Beauchamp became the latest local wrestler to reach the coveted 100-win plateau this winter, accomplishing the feat during the Northern Vermont Athletic Conference dual-meet championship on Saturday at St. Johnsbury.
Beauchamp, who competes at 220 pounds, picked up the 100th victory vs. Vergennes, and his record entering this week stood at 100-61 for his career and 37-6 this season.
Beauchamp’s record this winter includes a dramatic tournament victory at the Tigers’ own Hubie Wagner Invitational in late December.
The Tigers and the other local wrestling teams are off until Feb. 26 and 27, when Mill River will host the state tournament.
