Tiger gymnasts defeat Milton
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School gymnastics team on Wednesday defeated visiting Milton, 120.7-115.85, in its last regular-season meet.
The Tigers will wrap up their winter on Saturday afternoon, when they will participate in the state championship meet at Essex High School.
On this past Wednesday, Emily Laframboise was a double winner for the Tigers, claiming the victory in the vault and in the all-around competition, in which she edged out teammate Ada Anderson. For scoring purposes, Laframboise also placed first in the floor exercise, although Mount Abraham independent Abby Perlee prevailed in that event. Aly Chione won on the bars for MUHS.
The top four finishers in each event were:
• VAULT: 1. Laframboise (MUHS), 8.25; 2. Anderson (MUHS) and Perlee (Mt. Abe), 8.0; 4. Carmen Shappy (Milt), 7.9.
• BARS: 1. Chione (MUHS), 6.9; 2. Lian McGarry (MUHS), 6.7; 3. Laframboise and Megan Brady (Milt), 6.6.
• BEAM: 1. Carlie Reen (Milt), 8.5; 2. Anderson, 8.45; 3. McGarry, 8.4; 4. Anna Buteau, (MUHS), 8.35.
• FLOOR: 1. Perlee, 8.0; 2. Laframboise, 7.9; 3. Anderson, 7.45; 4. Cierra Jarvis (Milt), 7.4.
• ALL-AROUND: 1. Laframboise, 30.9; 2. Anderson, 30.4; 3. Perlee, 30.25; 4. Jarvis, 28.65.
