Starksboro sees no contested races
STARKSBORO — Starksboro will have no contested seats on its Town Meeting Day ballot.
Fire Warden and Assistant Fire Chief Tony Porter is running for the three-year seat on the Starksboro selectboard currently held by Mathew Norris, who is not running for re-election.
Caleb Elder is running for the Robinson Elementary School board. Elder was appointed in August 2015 to replace Dennis Hysko, who resigned earlier in the summer. Hysko’s term ended March 2016, so Elder is now running for a full three-year term in his own right. Jodi Bachand is running for re-election to the Mount Abraham Union High School board.
The position of second constable is still wide open on the Starksboro ballot.
Starksboro will hold its Town Meeting on Saturday, Feb. 27, at Robinson Elementary School, starting at 9 a.m. Voting by Australian ballot will take place Tuesday, March 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., also at Robinson Elementary.
