Ripton third-grader to sell pizza to fund D.C. trip

RIPTON — Ripton Elementary School will hold a pizza bake fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 12, for third-grader Addison Dunakin’s upcoming trip to Washington, D.C.
Dunakin, 8, was nominated by her teacher, Susan Ogilvie, and has been selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum – Pathways to STEM program this July. Proceeds from the pizza bake will help defray tuition costs for the program.
Prices are $12 for a cheese pizza, and $15 for pepperoni or sausage and onion. Pizzas may be preordered any time before noon on the 12th by calling 802-598-5607 with choice of topping and preferred pick-up time between 5 and 7 p.m.
Dunakin says she is grateful to Picnic Provisions (Shelburne) for providing sausage, Elmer Farm (East Middlebury) for providing vegetables, Ripton Elementary School, Ripton resident volunteers, and her classmates for their support.
