NOTE OF APPRECIATION: United Way of Addison County would like to send a giant THANK YOU shout-out to Middlebury Fitness for their support and community spirit. On Sunday, Jan. 10, Middlebury Fitness hosted and sponsored the third annual SPIN UNITED in support of UWAC and our participating funded partners. Together with 44 community members, they raised $4,500 in three hours. Thank you, Middlebury Fitness. What a fun and healthy way to contribute to our community.
Spin instructors Carolee Ploof, Janice Rushton and Tamara Chase all generously donated their time to keep us going throughout the day with their super enthusiasm and energy. Jerrod Rushton graciously hosted and sponsored us with their beautiful facility for our event. Thank you also to the Addison Independent for their sponsorship and continuous support.
Spinners welcomed wonderful massage therapists Donna Perrin and Roger Schmidt who very generously donated their incredible skills and time to keep our muscles loose and keep us pedaling. We cannot thank them enough for taking such good care of us and our bodies.
HUGE kudos to the 44 community members who came out and participated in this event for our community. We had spinners ride anywhere from one to three hours. Three-hour riders included Vilija Bizinkauskas (riding for Team Spin2Eat), Susan Schaefer and Lizzy Reed (riding for Milo Memorial), Jeanette Brush (riding for Team MiddFit), and Andrew Menkart (riding for Old Spokes). Other teams in the mix included United Way funded partner Team CSAC, Porter Peddlers, Spin Rockers, and Team UWAC. Our Team Winner was Team MiddSpin (Middlebury College), which again raised over $1,000. They were followed closely by Team Spin2Eat.
We are so lucky to have businesses like Middlebury Fitness and the Addison Independent, partners like the Counseling Service of Addison County, and people in Addison County who truly LIVE UNITED and get involved to support us and our community in so many ways. Thank you all.
