OV girls shut down Hornets basketball
BRANDON — On Saturday in Brandon, the Otter Valley Union High School girls’ basketball team won another close, low-scoring game, 30-27, over Enosburg. OV evened its record at 6-6, while Enosburg, the first-place team in Division III, dropped to 7-2.
The Hornets led at the half, 18-16, in a game that was close throughout. OV won by holding Enosburg to a season-low offensive output: The Hornets had not scored fewer than 47 points this winter. It is also the lowest total the Otters have surrendered this season.
Julia Lee (seven points), Gabby Poalino (six) and Amy Jones (five) led the OV offense.
The Otters have two tough tests this week: Mount Anthony visits on Wednesday, and they travel to Fair Haven on Friday.
