MUHS girls’ basketball edged twice
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ basketball team dropped a pair of games in the latter half of last week. The Tigers will carry a 5-7 record into a Wednesday date at Mount Abraham and then will host Missisquoi on Saturday.
On this past Wednesday, host Mount Mansfield used a 15-5 fourth-quarter edge to rally past the Tigers, 43-37. MUHS led the Cougars by four points after three periods after outscoring MMU in the third period, 17-9.
Keagan Dunbar scored a game-high 18 points for MUHS, and Katie Estes had 14 points for the 6-6 Cougars.
On Friday, the Tigers played another competitive Division I game, but came up short, 49-40, against visiting North Country. Carley Giroux and Kylie Wright scored 16 points apiece for the 5-6 Falcons, and Giroux added six steals. Dunbar scored 20 to lead the Tigers.
