Vermont State Police Log: Troopers respond to car accident, other incidents

ADDISON COUNTY — Troopers at the Vermont State Police barracks in New Haven reported a handful of incidents in the past week.
Between Jan. 12 and 18, state police troopers:
• On Jan. 12 at approximately 1 p.m., while it was snowing, responded to one-car crash on Route 17 East in Addison. Police said Sandra Gauthier, 61, of Addison was driving a 2009 Pontiac G6 westbound on a wet and slippery Route 17 at approximately 30-35 mph when the car began to slide as she went into a curve. She lost control of her vehicle, and it ended up in a ditch. Gauthier was not injured, but the vehicle sustained major front-end damage. State police do not believe alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision; no court action was expected.
• On Jan. 12 charged Leon Forrest, 34, of Leicester with giving false information to a law enforcement officer. The charge stemmed from a Jan. 3 incident in which state police stopped a car on Route 7 in Pittsford at around 6 p.m. for equipment violations. Police reported that throughout the course of the stop Forrest provided false identification, but his true identity was later discovered and last week he was charged.
• On Jan. 15 at approximately 5:49 p.m. received a call regarding a domestic dispute taking place at a home on Richville Road in Shoreham. Troopers went to the home, arrested 58-year-old William Alexander of Shoreham and cited him for first-degree aggravated domestic assault and driving under the influence. Alexander was lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility for lack of $2,500 cash bail or surety bond.
• On Jan. 17 at 11:34 p.m. were called to a Ferrisburgh home for a reported citizen dispute. Police said they found 21-year-old Kelsey J. Rheaume-Fox of Ferrisburgh, who had a warrant out for her arrest. Troopers took Rheaume-Fox into custody and transported her to the New Haven state police barracks for processing and on to the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility, where she was lodged on $5,000 bail.
