Host BFA deals Eagle boys’ basketball a loss

ST. ALBANS — Host BFA-St. Albans cruised to an 84-38 victory over visiting Mount Abraham Union High School in a Lake Division boys’ basketball game on Monday in St. Albans.
The Bobwhites improved to 5-8, while the Eagles carried an 0-12 record into a Wednesday night home game vs. Middlebury. The 1-9 Tigers were looking to snap a four-game skid in that game, which was played after the Wednesday morning deadline for this edition of the Independent.
On Monday, BFA’s Jens Ulrich-Verderber scored 12 of his game-high 22 points as his team took charge by outscoring the Eagles by 25-6 in the opening quarter. Tyler Tobin added 14 points for BFA.
Jackson Counter and Ryan Thompson led the Eagles with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
