MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police launched an investigation into the whereabouts of a 51-year-old Bennington woman reported missing from downtown Middlebury on March 6. The woman had reportedly been experiencing some mental health issues and confusion prior to her disappearance.

Fortunately, a family member called early the next morning to confirm the woman had been located.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Cited Ashleigh Hickey, 23, of Middlebury on a criminal charge of driving with a suspended license following an investigation of a vehicle going off Creek Road on March 2.

•  Served a no-trespass order on March 2 on an individual not wanted at a Foster Circle residence on March 2.

•  Assisted the Charter House warming shelter on North Pleasant Street with a man who was ill and had refused to leave the facility on March 3. Police said the man was taken to Porter Hospital for treatment.

•  Were informed of the theft of a mountain bike from the Jackson Lane area on March 3.

•  Served a no-trespass order on March 3 on a man who was not wanted at a Route 7 South home.

•  Received a report about a Middlebury Union Middle School student who was refusing to comply with requests and causing disruption on campus on March 3.

•  Received a report from a student alleging he had been threatened by a family member on March 3. The school resource officer contacted the family, which was aware of the threat, and is handling the issue, according to authorities.

•  Investigated vandalism to a business sign at the Marble Works on March 3.

•  Responded to a verbal domestic dispute between a Skyline Lane couple on March 4.

•  Were informed on March 4 of the recent theft of a backpack from Middlebury College campus. That backpack contained a Mac Pro and sunglasses.

•  Responded to a domestic disturbance at a Route 7 South home on March 4.

•  Investigated a report of a motor vehicle accident, with injuries, on Court Street Extension on March 4. Police said the driver was treated at the scene by Middlebury Regional EMS and refused to be taken to the hospital.

•  Ticketed a youth for being a minor in possession of tobacco in the Court Street area on March 4.

•  Were informed that a woman was missing from a South Pleasant Street residence on March 4. Police said the woman returned home later that day.

•  Responded to a noise complaint at a Court Street residence on March 4.

•  Received a report about a man making a scene outside of Two Brothers Tavern on March 5. Police restored the peace.

•  Investigated suspected marijuana use by the occupants of a Court Street apartment on March 5. Police said they found some marijuana residue inside the apartment.

•  Ticketed a local juvenile for being a minor in possession of alcohol on Butternut Ridge Drive on March 5.

•  Received a report on March 5 from the Mill River school resource officer that a student there was being harassed by two Middlebury Union High School students. Police said the matter was handled at the school level.

•  Were informed of the possible theft of a purse from the Exchange Street area on March 6.

•  Attempted to locate a male in East Middlebury who had been wanted by Vermont State Police for assault on March 6.

•  Were informed of the possible theft of some gasoline from a North Pleasant Street address on March 6.

•  Responded to a theft complaint at the EastView retirement community on March 6.

•  Responded to a report of someone playing loud music in the Elm Street neighborhood on March 7.

•  Interceded on March 7 into what has been an ongoing dispute between some East Main Street neighbors on March 7.

•  Investigated a blood trail reported off Three Mile Bridge Road on March 7. Police located the source of the blood — a coyote that had been shot.

•  Assisted Middlebury Regional EMS with an unresponsive patient on Wilson Road on March 7. Police said the man was taken to Porter Hospital.

•  Helped a man whom passersby had found unresponsive in his vehicle parked off Court Street on March 7. Middlebury Regional EMS treated the man for a drug overdose and released him, according to police. Police seized suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia from his vehicle. No charges have been filed in this case at this point.

•  Warned two people for violating the town’s open container ordinance on College Street on March 8.
