Vergennes winter parking ban is in effect

VERGENNES — The City of Vergennes Winter Parking Ban is now in effect.
From Dec. 1 through March 31, vehicles parked on city streets between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. will be ticketed.
If there are inclement weather conditions requiring plowing of snow or additional snow/ice removal operations, and a vehicle is parked on city streets between 2 and 6:30 a.m., the vehicle will be ticketed and towed.
“Your vehicle will not be released until the towing fee is paid to the towing company,” city police Chief George Merkel said. “The Vergennes Public Works Department and the Vergennes Police Department appreciate your cooperation.
“Have a happy and safe holiday season,” he added.
