Warrant out for man suspected of threatening Middlebury DCF workers
MIDDLEBURY — Vermont State Police are seeking a man in connection with threats he allegedly made against two workers at the Middlebury office of the Department of Children & Families (DCF) on Dec. 11.
State police allege that John Ryan Stice, a 26-year-old transient, called the DCF on Dec. 11 and threatened to harm the two workers. Stice is currently involved in a custody dispute in which DCF has involvement, according to VSP Det. Sgt. Julie Scribner.
Stice is now wanted on a warrant for obstruction of justice, according to police. When apprehended, his bail will be set at $100,000, authorities said. Stice was last known to be living in Kentucky, but his cell phone has been deactivated and his current whereabouts are unknown, according to Scribner.
Anyone with information about Stice or where he might be is asked to call the VSP at 802-388-4919.
