MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police on Dec. 3 cited Ashley L. Brown, 21, of Bristol for leaving the scene of an accident and having no vehicle insurance, after she allegedly rear-ended a bus on Court Street Extension and left the scene.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Assisted Middlebury Regional EMS with a suicidal woman in the Field Road area on Nov. 30.
•  Assisted a person who claimed to have felt “threatened” by another person while at a North Forty Lane residence on Nov. 30.
•  Were informed that a wallet had been taken from the boys’ locker room at Middlebury Union High School on Dec. 2.
•  Received a report that some jackets had been stolen from Middlebury College campus on Dec. 2.
•  Took a student in crisis to receive services at the Counseling Service of Addison County on Dec. 2.
•  Were informed that a wallet had been taken from a vehicle parked off Merchants Row on Dec. 2.
•  Investigated a report of a man allegedly selling electronic equipment from his vehicle on Pine Road on Dec. 2. The vehicle was gone when police arrived.
•  Calmed a disruptive student at MUHS on Dec. 2.
•  Received a report about a youth engaging in lewd conduct in front of other youths on College Street on Dec. 2. The matter is under investigation.
•  Responded to a report of an intoxicated woman who had expressed a desire to take her own life, near the intersection of Cedar Court and Buttolph Drive on Dec. 3. Police said the woman was taken to Porter Hospital.
•  Assisted a Jayne Court resident who was concerned about a potential stalker on Dec. 3.
•  Heard from what police described as an “extremely drunk” woman who had reported that a car had hit her in the Shaw’s Supermarket parking lot on Dec. 3. Police said the incident could not be substantiated and they released the woman into the custody of a family member.
•  Responded to a shoplifting complaint at Kinney Drugs on Court Street on Dec. 3.
•  Were informed of the theft of a purse from Two Brothers Tavern on Main Street on Dec. 4.
•  Assisted the Addison County Sheriff’s Department with a consent search at South Village Green on Dec. 4.
•  Investigated a report of gunshots in the Jackson Lane area on Dec. 4. Police were unable to locate the source of the gunshots.
•  Responded to a trespassing complaint at Maplefields on North Pleasant Street on Dec. 4.
•  Assisted Porter Hospital on a report that a man — believed to have been under the influence of narcotics — had driven away from the hospital on Dec. 4 after allegedly claiming he wasn’t going to drive. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
•  Took, to CSAC, a student who was experiencing an emotional crisis at MUHS on Dec. 4.
•  Cited Tyler Malloy, 22, of Middlebury for driving under the influence, following a stop on Bakery Lane on Dec. 4. Police said Malloy’s blood alcohol content tested at 0.145 percent; the legal limit for driving is 0.08.
•  Assisted a local woman who was having problems with an ex-boyfriend on Dec. 4.
•  Responded to a report of a Cedar Court resident believed to have taken an overdose of pills on Dec. 5. Emergency responders took the woman to Porter Hospital, according to police.
•  Released, to a sober person, a woman who was intoxicated in the Cedar Court area on Dec. 5.
•  Responded to a hit-and-run accident involving two vehicles in the Shaw’s parking lot on Washington Street on Dec. 5. Police said a parked truck was damaged as a result of the incident.
•  Heard from a local resident on Dec. 5 who said someone had fraudulently used her credit card to buy pre-paid Sprint phone cards and a cell phone.
•  Investigated a Dec. 5 report of a lady yelling at a mother downtown about having her child out in the cold.
•  Responded to the reported theft of tires from a vehicle that had been parked at the American Legion headquarters off Boardman Street on Dec. 5.
•  Assisted Middlebury College officials in dealing with some individuals who were not wanted on campus on Dec. 6.
•  Responded to a child’s report that his parents were fighting at their North Pleasant Street residence on Dec. 6.
•  Assisted a Gorham Lane resident who was allegedly having problems with a jealous ex-girlfriend on Dec. 6.
•  Responded to the Maplefields on North Pleasant Street on a report of possible drug activity in the restroom on Dec. 6.
•  Assisted an individual having mental health issues in the East Main Street area on Dec. 6.
•  Investigated an alleged dispute between a mother and daughter in the Maecliff Court area on Dec. 6.
•  Received a report about a Court Street resident possibly tampering with a neighbor’s truck on Dec. 6. Police are investigating the matter.
