Locals named high school field hockey all-stars

ADDISON COUNTY — Sixteen members of the Otter Valley, Mount Abraham and Middlebury union high school field hockey teams earned postseason honors from the Marble Valley League A Division or the Metro Conference, and five of them enjoyed successful tryouts for the Vermont Twin-State team.
Two Otters were named MVL A Division All-Stars: forward Allison Lowell and midfielder Maia Edmunds. The MVL did not name a second team or choose any honorable mention players.
Named to Metro First-Team All-Stars were two Eagles, midfielder Danielle Bachand and defender Ellie Gevry, and two Tigers, midfielder Tajah Marsden and forward MaKayla Foster.
Named Second-Team Metro All-Stars were one Eagle, midfielder Ashley Turner, and three Tigers, forward Lauren Bartlett, forward/midfielder Lily Smith and forward Mikayla Humiston.
Earning Metro Honorable Mention were four Eagles, goalie Danielle Morse, defender Macey Ross, defender Emily Aldrich and forward Jackie Reiss; and two Tiger defenders, Alex Whipple and Mikayla Robinson.
Named to the Twin-State team, which will be led by MUHS Coach Megan Sears next summer, were Edmunds, Bachand, Marsden, Bartlett and Foster.
