VERGENNES — Creative Space Gallery on Main Street in Vergennes will take part in Saturday’s Holiday Stroll activities.
On Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., go to 214 Main for a “Meet the Artist” event. Julner Remy will demonstrate his techniques for producing traditional icon paintings. Remy is a native of Haiti who moved to Whiting in 2009. His paintings are largely acrylic on canvas. While some of his work is in the style of religious icons, other pieces explode with tropical colors evoking street and market scenes that Remy recalls from Haiti.
Staffed entirely by volunteers, the nonprofit gallery is noted for its distinctive exhibits that present unique groupings of glass, wood, metal sculpture, pottery, fiber arts together with paintings, prints, and mixed media pieces.
Creative Space Gallery features the work of 50 Vermont artists and artisans, including Addison County artists Marsha Chase, Janet Seaburg, Joan Burt, Louise Giovanella and Kathy Mitchell, among many others.
