Middlebury cross country teams compete at NCAA championship
WINNECONNE, Wis. — The Middlebury College women’s and men’s cross country teams finished eighth and 24th, respectively, in the NCAA Division III championship races hosted on Saturday by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Winneconne, Wis.
Panthers Sebastian Matt and Abigail Nadler each earned All-American honors with their respective finishes. The Williams women and the Wisconsin-Eau Claire men won national crowns.
Nadler led the Panther women by taking 18th place with a time of 21:43 over the 6K course. Next for Middlebury was Adrian Walsh in 35th place, followed by Erzsie Nagy, who took home 65th place. Placing 99th in the race was Sasha Whittle, while Katherine Tercek was 107th to wrap up the Panther scorers.
On the men’s side, Matt paced the squad in 14th place, running the 8K course in a time of 24:43. Next for the Panthers were Ascencion Aispuro in 66th and Brian Rich in 101st place. Sam Cartwright placed 174th, while Kevin Serrao rounded out the Middlebury scorers in 190th.
