MIDDLEBURY — Some people really love the wines sold at Town Hall Theater in Middlebury. Others are less enthusiastic. So the crew at Town Hall Theater decided to let the people decide, resulting in a delightful event on Dec. 6, The Wine Audition and Cheddar Challenge.
“We’re going to stock the bar in the same way we’d cast a play,” says THT executive director Douglas Anderson. “You can’t get in without an audition.”
Guests will be served a blind tasting of six red wines and six white wines, and will vote on their favorites. The winning wines will be served at THT in the coming year.
In addition, those who take part will also be challenged to select the best Vermont cheddar. Local cheese-makers will provide a selection of delicious cheddars to taste. Vendors will be on hand to sell their products.
Proceeds from the evening will help underwrite the wide range of programming at Town Hall Theater.
The Wine Audition and Cheddar Cheese Challenge will take place on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $20 for THT members/$25 non-members, and $25 at the door.
