The trooper discovered a vehicle had traveled off the road, hit a guard rail and traveled down a steep embankment. Due to the severity of the crash and Dietrich complaining of chest pains, the Bristol Rescue Squad was called, and they transported Dietrich to Porter Medical Center for further evaluation.
At the hospital, an evidentiary sample of Dietrich’s blood was obtained. The blood results recently came back and showed Dietrich’s blood alcohol content was over 0.08 percent, the legal limit for driving. State police issued Dietrich a citation to answer the charges in Addison Superior Court, criminal division, on Dec. 14.
