SALISBURY — In a small field, 9-year-old Calder Rakowski of Vergennes won the Sept. 27 Vermont Sun 5K Run at Branbury State Park on Lake Dunmore in Salisbury. Rakowski finished in 24:35, just edging out Sybren Spensley from Pittsford, the first female, who finished in 24:39.

The three running races were the final events in the Vermont Sun Triathlon and Run Series for 2015.
The Middlebury Union High School girls’ soccer teams provided support at all the run aid stations.
