Vietnam veterans group is looking for more members

BRISTOL — Addison County’s chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America, based in Bristol, is reaching out to other veterans who may wish to take part in the organization.
Chartered in 2003, Chapter 926 of VVA has met on the fourth Thursday of each month at the American Legion in Bristol. Their motto is “Never again shall one generation of veterans abandon another.”
“We strive to aid all veterans regardless of when or where they served,” said VVA chapter member Brad Bedard.
The VVA  is open to any veteran that served in any location between Aug. 5, 1965, and May 7, 1975. A discharge from active duty, Form D 214, is required.
Dues are $20 per year or $50 for three years. A special is being offered until Dec. 31 of life membership for $100.
The group welcomes those interested in the VVA to attend a meeting and see what it is all about.
“Our meetings are not long and we usually end up talking about things going on in our lives,” Bedard said.
Chapter 926 of the VVA will next meet on Nov. 19 at the Bristol American Legion, which is a week early due to Thanksgiving.
For more information contact Brad Bedard at 453-5675 or [email protected].
