BRISTOL — Bristol police are investigating a domestic argument this past Saturday that ended in one of the subjects being struck by a vehicle on Garfield Street.
Kenneth Lemieux, 26, of Bristol was struck by a vehicle on the evening of Oct. 31 and police were alerted at 7:46 p.m. Police report that when they arrived to investigate, they learned that Lemieux and the operator of the vehicle had been involved in a domestic argument just prior to Lemieux being struck. Police took Lemieux to University of Vermont Medical Center. He was later cited for first-degree aggravated domestic assault and first-degree unlawful restraint.
Police are still investigating the incident and said the driver who struck Lemieux could face criminal charges.
In other recent activity Bristol police:
• Assisted an Addison County Sheriff’s deputy on Route 116 north of Bristol village on Oct. 26 at close to 11 a.m. After the deputy had stopped a vehicle for speeding, the two occupants exited the vehicle and began to approach the deputy. After the Bristol police arrived, officers screened the driver, James Stone, 24, of East Montpelier and cited him for driving under the influence of drugs.
• Responded to a reported assault at Mount Abraham Union High School on Oct. 29. Officers determined that an assault had occurred in a hallway at approximately 8:20 a.m. and then located the 17-year-old male suspect, who had been removed from school grounds. The Addison County State’s Attorney filed charges of domestic assault against the 17-year-old at an arraignment on Oct. 29. He was released by the court pending resolution of the case. Although the teen was charged as an adult, police said it was possible that his case could be moved to juvenile court, where his name would not be made public.
