Monkton citizen sought for Mount Abe board
MONKTON — The Mt. Abraham Union Middle/High School Board is seeking a Monkton resident interested in serving on the 13-member school board as the result of a recent vacancy.
After seven years of service, longtime Mt. Abe board member Shawna Sherwin submitted her letter of resignation to ANeSU board chair Dawn Griswold on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Sherwin was elected to a three-year term, which officially expires in 2018.
Members of the Monkton community are invited to submit a letter of interest to serve as a board member by Friday, Nov. 13. The Monkton Central School Board will meet with interested individuals on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at their November board meeting (time to be determined) at Mt. Abraham Union Middle/High School and anticipate appointing a new member at that time.
