Take a Patagonian trip, shop for books at New Haven Library
NEW HAVEN — The New Haven Community Library has two public events scheduled this month.
On Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m., the library will present its first Armchair Traveler program of the season. Norma Norland of New Haven will give an illustrated presentation on Patagonia. She will share her views and commentary on her travels, from an estancia (estate) in northern Patagonia to the southern end of the South American continent, including treks in Parque Nacional Los Glaciares in Argentina, a visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier and the circuit trek in the magnificent Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free, the building is accessible, and all are welcome.
Then, on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the library will hold its biannual Friends of the Library book sale. Books new and old, in all genres, will be offered. Books are priced at “take what you want, give what you can.” Proceeds benefit the New Haven Community Library.
For more information on either of these events, call the library at 453-4015.
