New Haven’s spooky Halloween event to be held Oct. 24

NEW HAVEN — The town of New Haven will hold a Spooktacular full of Halloween fun on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 4:30-9 p.m. at the New Haven Congregational Church and on the town green.
The event kicks off with “trunk-and-treat” car decorating from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the church parking lot, located on Town Hill Road across from the town green. From 5:30-6:30 p.m., trunk-and-treaters can come see the decorated vehicles and get candy from tricked-out trunks. There will be a people’s choice prize give for the best vehicle.
Spooktacular attendees are invited to bring their carved pumpkins from home for the pumpkin lighting on the green at dusk.
And from 6:30-9 p.m. families can enjoy the Haunted Congregational Church and Town Green.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
The church will be open throughout Spooktacular serving refreshments downstairs.
Cars and costumed people are needed. Call 453-5978, 377-7551 or 877-3080 to be a participant.
This is a free event sponsored by the Town Events Department and the New Haven Congregational Church.
