Tiger boys’ soccer shuts out Missisquoi
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School boys’ soccer team blanked visiting Missisquoi Valley on Tuesday, 4-0, as senior Drew Barnicle scored the game’s first three goals.
Joao Pedro Ribeiro added a late goal for the Tigers and also set up Barnicle’s first score.
Tiger goalie Wilder Perera stopped five shots and MVU’s Shane Laroche made seven saves.
The Tigers improved to 5-7-1 — after their 0-5-1 start — heading into a game at Vergennes on Friday that will conclude their regular season. The Vermont Principals’ Association will announce Division I playoff pairings on Monday. The Tigers appear to be headed for a No. 12 or 13 seed.
