Soccer: Eagle girls, OV boys win; Tiger girls fall

ADDISON COUNTY — In area high school soccer action earlier this week, the Mount Abraham girls and Otter Valley boys picked up wins, but the Middlebury girls came up short.
EAGLE GIRLS
The Eagle girls finally broke through on offense, scoring five goals in Tuesday’s second half to defeat visiting Missisquoi, 6-0. Lydia Pitts scored three of those second half goals. Anna Hauman gave Mount Abe the lead late in the first half, and Abby Mansfield andGenysis Berube also tallied after the break.
Ernesta McIntosh picked up a pair of assists for the Eagles, and Stacie Sabourin,Lauren Gibson and Mansfield also chipped in helpers. Kamille Snell backstopped the win with one save as the Eagles moved to 2-5. Jenna Bourdeau had six stops for MVU.
OTTER BOYS
On Monday, the OV boys knocked off Springfield, 1-0, in the first round of Arlington’s John Werner tournament. Thomas Kingsley scored with an assist from Maxwell Williams 11 minutes into the game, and the OV defense and goalie Colin Nicklaw (four saves) made it stand up. Cosmo goalie Andrew Towne also stopped four shots. The Otters will meet Twin Valley in Friday’s tourney final.
TIGER GIRLS
On Tuesday, host Milton improved to 6-1 by topping the Tigers, 4-1. Cait Dabagian sparked the Yellowjackets with a pair of goals.
Andi Boe scored for MUHS, which dropped to 2-4-1.
