ADDISON COUNTY — The county’s boys’ high school soccer teams all hit the road for games on Tuesday, when Mount Abraham pulled out a close win, and Vergennes and Middlebury came up short.
EAGLES
The Eagles got a tie-breaking goal from Nick Catlin with seven minutes to go and picked up a 2-1 win at Lake Division rival Milton. Dylan Weaver’s first-half goal gave the Eagles the lead over the 1-3 Yellowjackets, but Ryan Brown equalized for Milton after halftime.
Nick Szczecinski stopped five shots for Mount Abe, and Alex Dooley made six saves for Milton. The Eagles improved to 2-1 heading into a Friday game at MUHS.
TIGERS
Host Champlain Valley improved to 5-0 with a 6-0 victory over the Tigers. The Redhawks have yet to surrender a goal this year, and two CVU keepers each stopped one MUHS shot. Tiger goalie Wilder Perera made six stops as MUHS dropped to 0-3-1 heading into the Eagles’ visit.
COMMODORES
Host Missisquoi got a hat trick from Michael Wright in a 3-1 win over the Commodores, who dropped to 1-3 with their first loss by more than one goal. Camden Simpson scored for VUHS after halftime, momentarily tying the score. Goalie Ethan Sausville stopped seven stops for VUHS, which hosts Milton on Friday.
