MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited James G. Wisnowski, 57, of Middlebury for driving under the influence, third offense, on Sept. 7 after stopping him on Court Street on a report of a person driving erratically.
Police said they measured Wisnowski’s blood-alcohol content at 0.374 percent, which is more than four times the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent for driving.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•   Responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Cross Street area on Sept. 7. Authorities determined the caller had been experiencing some mental health issues.
•   Responded to a domestic dispute at a Valley View Road home on Sept. 7.
•   Investigated a domestic dispute at a Skyline Lane residence on Sept. 8.
•   Assisted Vermont State Police with an unruly patient at Porter Hospital on Sept. 8.
•   Removed an unwanted person from a Court Street business on Sept. 8.
•   Responded to a report of a drunken man on top of the grain tower behind Danforth Pewter off Seymour Street on Sept. 8. Police eventually talked the man into coming down from the tower, and he was later released into the custody of a family member.
•   Investigated a report of a possible break-in at a Lindale Circle home on Sept. 8. Police said it appears as though nothing was taken from the home.
•   Launched an investigation into an alleged sexual assault in the Upper Plains Road area that was reported to authorities on Sept. 8.
•   Ticketed a local youth for being a minor in possession of tobacco on the Middlebury Union High School campus on Sept. 8.
•   Investigated a report of a suicidal man in the East Main Street area on Sept. 9. Police determined the man was in fact in Burlington, and informed Burlington police about the report.
•   Were informed that someone had scratched an MUHS staff member’s vehicle while it was parked on campus on Sept. 9.
•   Received a report about a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident at MUHS on Sept. 9.
•   Warned a man for violating the town’s open container law on North Pleasant Street on Sept. 10.
•   Investigated a possible violation of an abuse prevention order at the intersection of Buttolph Drive and Washington Street on Sept. 11.
•   Received a report on Sept. 11 about a woman attempting to pick up young students from Northlands Job Corps campus in Vergennes and possibly providing them with alcohol and marijuana.
•   Responded to a report of a father-son argument at a Ledgewood Court residence on Sept. 11.
•   Received a complaint from a Lower Plains Road resident about an unknown woman walking up and down their driveway during the evening of Sept. 12.
•   Investigated a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident on South Street on Sept. 12.
•   Responded to a reported dispute between some Morningside Drive neighbors on Sept. 12.
•  Investigated a custodial interference complaint at a Sugarwood Court residence on Sept. 13.
•   Were informed of the theft of a wallet from the Middlebury Short Stop on Court Street Extension on Sept. 13. Police said a man had left the wallet at the store, and store officials were holding it for him when someone else allegedly stole it.
•   Served a no-trespass order on a woman who was allegedly bothering the tenant of a North Pleasant Street apartment on Sept. 13.
•   Were informed on Sept. 13 of the recent theft of 15 gallons of gas from an airplane at the Middlebury State Airport.
•   Responded to a family fight at a Seminary Street residence on Sept. 13.
