ADDISON COUNTY — Vergennes got past Otter Valley to highlight local high school boys’ soccer action in the latter half of last week. In other games, OV tied, while VUHS, Mount Abraham and Middlebury all came up short.

Both teams saw action again on Saturday, and both played overtime.

The Slaters got the game-winner a minute into the extra session, when Austin Brannock knocked in a feed from Gus Ruby. Earlier, Garret Gonzales tied the game on a second-half penalty kick. Slater goalie Sam Eaton made 13 saves as his team improved to 2-2-1.
Simpson’s goal, assisted by Aaron Gaines, gave VUHS the first-half lead, and Ruggiero stopped 11 shots for the Commodores.
