MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police on Aug. 27 continued their investigation into an alleged incident of some juveniles possessing drugs and a knife at the Ilsley Library on Main Street.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Responded to a report of a man acting suspiciously at the Middlebury Short Stop gas station on Aug. 24.
•  Assisted Citizens Bank with an incident involving a woman who had allegedly tried to cash some bad checks at its Middle Road branch on Aug. 24. Police said they confirmed the incident to be a part of a scam.
•  Received a call from a local woman alleging that her father had threatened her boyfriend on Aug. 24. Police continue to investigate the matter.
•  Were informed on Aug. 24 that a bike had recently been stolen from the rack in front of the Vermont Book Shop.
•  Responded, with Middlebury Regional EMS, to a report of a local woman who allegedly wanted to harm herself on Aug. 25.
•  Assisted Vermont State Police and Bristol police with a domestic dispute on Case Street in Bristol on Aug. 25.
•  Checked on the welfare of an East Middlebury resident who had allegedly threatened to harm herself on Aug. 25.
•  Responded to a verbal domestic dispute involving a Valley View couple on Aug. 26.
•  Investigated a dispute between some Maple Street neighbors on Aug. 26 that focused on the moving of an art sculpture.
•  Seized drug paraphernalia from a vehicle involved in a traffic stop on Aug. 26.
•  Checked the welfare of an East Middlebury woman believed to have been suicidal on Aug. 26.
•  Served a temporary restraining order on Aug. 26 on a man who was not wanted at a Munson Road home.
•  Assisted Middlebury Regional EMS in responding to a report of a man in the East Middlebury River with a possible broken leg on Aug. 26.
•  Investigated a report of someone pitching a tent on private property off White Pine Lane on Aug. 26.
•  Cited Danielle Knott, 22, of New Haven for driving under the influence, following a traffic stop on North Pleasant Street on Aug. 26. Police said they measured Knott’s blood-alcohol content at 0.142 percent; the legal limit for driving is 0.08.
•  Stopped an alleged erratic driver on Route 7 in New Haven after having received a complaint about the vehicle during the evening of Aug. 27. Police said the driver was not impaired.
•  Assisted a local resident on Aug. 27 who had reported receiving some harassing phone calls.
•  Followed up on a barking dog complaint on Locust Drive on Aug. 27.
•  Assisted Vermont State Police with an animal-related complaint on Route 7 in Salisbury on Aug. 27.
•  Were informed on Aug. 27 of the theft of a chainsaw from the Hannaford Career Center.
•  Responded to a report on Aug. 27 of a student brandishing a knife at the Mary Hogan Elementary School campus on Aug. 27. Police said the incident was investigated and handled through the school’s disciplinary process.
•  Investigated the reported theft of a grounding rod and wire from the municipal pump house off Weybridge Street on Aug. 27.
•  Responded to a domestic disturbance at a Seminary Street residence on Aug. 27. Police said the incident involved a verbal argument between two intoxicated people.
•  Gave a homeless woman a ride to the Blue Spruce Motel on Aug. 28.
•  Helped mediate a dispute between some South Village Green residents regarding the ownership of an Xbox gaming system on Aug. 28.
•  Were informed of a hit-and-run accident involving two vehicles in a parking lot off Weybridge Street on Aug. 28.
•  Responded to a report of an intoxicated person near the intersection of Main and South streets on Aug. 29.
•  Responded to a report of an unwanted customer refusing to leave the Middlebury Gulf Station on Court Street on Aug. 29. Police said the woman had left when they arrived.
•  Received a complaint from an East Main Street resident about a neighbor taking pictures and “acting in a harassing manner” on Aug. 29.
•  Were asked to remove a woman from the Village Depot gas station on Court Street on Aug. 29. Police said the woman had left when they arrived.
•  Responded to a domestic disturbance at a Maple Street home on Aug. 30.
•  Investigated a complaint on Aug. 30 of a man acting suspiciously after he had been asked to leave a property at which he didn’t belong.
•  Were informed of a gas drive-off from the Middlebury Short Stop on Court Street Extension on Aug. 30. Police said the culprit was a young woman driving a blue Chevy Trailblazer with a big dent on the rear driver’s side panel of the vehicle.
•  Assisted a senior citizen in the Cedar Court neighborhood on Aug. 30.
•  Cited Michael Desjadon, 23, of Middlebury for driving with a suspended license on Route 7 South on Aug. 30.
