BRANDON – The Otter Valley Union High School on Friday blanked visiting Twin Valley, 2-0, giving Coach Rick Hedding his first varsity victory.
Abbie Pinkowski scored both goals for OV in what was the season opener for both squads.
Isabelle Kingsley set up Pinkowski’s first strike, and Hedding also credited Kingsley and the other OV midfielders with controlling possession for much of the game.
OV goalie Gabby Poalino worked a six-save shutout, and Hedding said center back Jillian Flanders anchored the Otter defensive effort.
The Otters will look to make it two straight when they host Arlington on Wednesday.
