Otter Valley field hockey battles to 1-1 tie

BRANDON – The host Otter Valley Union High School and Mount Anthony field hockey teams on Friday battled to a 1-1 stalemate in the opener for both squads. 
The Otters scored first with 8:51 remaining in the first half, when Allison Lowell converted a Maia Edmunds assist. MAU responded at 24:53 of the second half, when Margaret Certh scored on a set-up from Alex Cross
OV goalie Myliah McDonough made 10 saves, while MAU keeper Savannah Rogers stopped four shots.
Next up for the Otters Valley is a Sept. 3 game at Fair Haven.
