Middlebury youth team wins softball league title
PROCTOR — The Middlebury Tigers Major Summer League softball team won the title in the Rutland County Softball League in which they competed this summer. The Tigers, made up of Middlebury area girls in grades 5-8, clinched the title by beating West Rutland in the league tournament final, 14-1, in a game in Proctor on July 31.
The Tigers were sponsored by Rupe’s Custom Cutting of Sudbury. They posted an 8-3 record in regular season vs. the five other teams in the league.
Members of the team were Olivia Audet, Aby LaRock, Emma Larrow, Grace Paquette, Shayla Phillips, Sydney Provencher, Kylee Roberts, Kyra Roberts, Gwen Stafford, Katelyn Stearns, Taylor Sylvester and Harley Williams.
Joey LaRock was the head coach; he was assisted by Tim Paquette and Leo Audet.
