UPDATE: Swimming beach closed at Branbury State Park
SALISBURY — Vermont State Parks officials on Friday closed the swimming beach at Branbury State Park in Salisbury.
They said a swim water sample taken last Wednesday showed an extremely low ecoli reading (6 per 100 ml of water), but officials said the beach was been closed “as a prudent precaution” after the Vermont Department of Health received several reports of sickness by recent Branbury park visitors.
Park staff on Friday were disinfecting all surfaces in the park and working with the Health Department.
Water was supposed to be resampled later on Friday.
UPDATE: Parks officials re-opened the beach on Monday. Read the story here.
