MIDDLEBURY — The Abbey Food Service Group is hosting a free public barbecue on Monday, Aug. 17, at the Recreation Park next to Mary Hogan School in Middlebury from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The barbecue aims to bring awareness to Hunger Free Vermont, an education and advocacy organization with the mission of ending the injustice of hunger and malnutrition for all Vermonters. The statewide nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing nutrition education and expanding access to nutrition programs that nourish Vermont’s children, families and communities. 
Monday’s barbecue is free, but donations are welcome; 100 percent of donations and will go to Hunger Free Vermont.
