Vermont Superior Court Log for Aug. 6, 2015
ADDISON COUNTY — In recent activity in Addison Superior Court, Criminal Division, the following took place:
Scott Boyle, 25, of Middlebury pleaded guilty by waiver to a May 26 charge of careless or negligent driving, and was ordered to complete the Reparative Board and was fined $147.
Donald Leon Brown, 48, of Bristol pleaded guilty to April 29 charges of driving under the influence, second offense, and careless or negligent driving, and was sentenced to 36 months, all but seven days suspended, and a 180-day license suspension, and was fined $1,044.
Samuel T. Cote, 30, of Brandon pleaded guilty to an April 1 charge of driving with a suspended license, and was ordered to complete the Reparative Board, and was fined $147.
Mark A. Currier, 27, of Salisbury pleaded guilty to a charge of financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult, and was sentenced to 8 years, all but 60 days suspended with credit for time served; was ordered to complete 250 hours of community service, including at least 10 hours serving children and adults with learning disabilities; was ordered to make restitution of $562.49 to the victim; and was fined $147.
Pauline Dunham, 56, of Vergennes pleaded innocent to a June 16 charge of driving under the influence, and was released with conditions.
Michael Grace, 59, of Groveport, Ohio, was found guilty by a jury of a Nov. 19, 2013, charge of driving under the influence, third offense, and was sentenced to three years, all but 10 days suspended; had his license revoked; and was fined $207. The sentence was stayed pending appeal.
Kyle Hamblin, 23, of Middlebury pleaded innocent to July 6 charges of driving under the influence, second offense, and driving with a suspended license, and was released with conditions.
Quamir Harmon, 18, of Newark, N.J., pleaded guilty to June 15 charges of simple assault and aggravated assault, and was sentenced to 36 days and was fined $294.
Jerry L. Hoffman, 22, of Middlebury pleaded guilty to Jan. 30 charges of burglary and unlawful mischief greater than $250, and was sentenced to 6 years, suspended; was ordered to complete 200 hours of community service; and was fined $294.
Matthew Lucas Husk, 23, of Ferrisburgh pleaded guilty to a Jan. 23 charge of disorderly conduct – fight, etc., and was sentenced to 21 days on work crew, and was fined $147.
Michael William Lackard, 33, of Middlebury pleaded guilty to a March 30 charge of contempt of court, and was fined $722.
Jessica Laughlin, 22, of Vergennes had an arrest warrant issued for failing to appear to answer to April 14, 18, 23, 26 and 29 counts of forgery – uttering/publishing an instrument.
James Tyler Lomax, 44, of Starksboro pleaded innocent to a July 10 charge of driving under the influence, and was released with conditions.
Laurie A. Lynch, 41, of Middlebury pleaded guilty to a March 31 charge of driving with a suspended license, and was sentenced to 30 days, suspended; was ordered to complete 40 hours of community service; and was fined $147.
Jared Malzac, 26, of Bristol pleaded guilty to a May 21 charge of domestic assault, and was ordered to not abuse or harass the victim, to complete Domestic Violence Solutions or a similar program, and to abide by all family court orders. The state’s attorney dismissed a May 21 charge of interference with access to emergency services as part of a plea agreement. Sentencing was deferred for two years.
Brian J. Paul, 37, of Ludlow pleaded guilty to Nov. 17, 2014, charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or both, and driving with a suspended license, and was sentenced to 18 months, all but 60 hours suspended, and was fined $1,044.
Tausha Stalcup, 42, of Bristol pleaded guilty to an April 12 charge of driving with a suspended license, and was sentenced to 30 days, suspended, and was fined $147.
Luke Vera, 33, of Randolph pleaded guilty to a June 10 charge of retail theft, $900 or less, and was sentenced to 10 days on work crew and was fined $147.
