Ralph Myhre hosts golf tourney
MIDDLEBURY — Pete Mulgrew and Sean Mulgrew comprised the duo that claimed the Overall Point Winner title at this past weekend’s annual Dud Phinney Member-Guest Tournament in Middlebury. The twosome of Joe Bartlett and Hugh Barber grabbed the Low Qualifier title in the tournament, which was played last Thursday through Sunday at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course.
The duo of Kelly Kelton and Jeff Sherman won the first flight in the tournament. They edged the second-place team of Bartlett and Barber, with Kirk Goodman and Brett Everest finishing third in the first flight.
In the other flights the top teams were:
• Second flight: 1. Pete Mulgrew and Sean Mulgrew, 2. Mike Adams and John Illick, 3. Nathan Audet and Troy Audet.
• Third flight: 1. Edson Lampher and Ray Bayette, 2. Kit Wilson and Wes Poling, 3. Paul Lengyel and Ross Lengyel.
• Fourth flight: 1. Ric Wheeler and Clark Bryant, 2. Kurt Pope and Mike Bordeleau, 3. Zach Robinson and Pat White.
• Fifth flight: 1. Robert Cameron and Allen Pratt, 2. Neil Mackey and Bart Frisbie, 3. Frank Broughton and Adam Broughton.
• Sixth flight: 1. Bill Laberge and Bob Kellogg, 2. Jeff Mcdonough and Mark Mcdonough, 3. Dave Wemette and Mike O’Donnell.
The longest drive winners for the 18th hole were (under 50 years old) Mike Sims and (50 and older) Kelly Kelton.
The closest-to-the-pin winners were:
July 25: Hole 4: Don Dayton; Hole 7: Steve Hoverman; Hole 12: Steve Robison; Hole 14: Rick James.
July 23: Hole 4: Joe Bartlett 4’4”; Hole 7: Bill Laberge 8’; Hole 12: Bruce Costello 2’; Hole 14: Bernie Andrews 2’3.5”.
July 24: Hole 4: Mike O’Donnell 11’2”; Hole 7: Bob Kellogg 1’2” ; Hole 12: Paul Lengyel 6’.5” ; Hole 14: Bill Malloy 6’1”.
July 25: Hole 4: Larry Provencher 5’6”; Hole 7: Brian Emilo 5’5” ; Hole 12: Ray Gale 9’; Hole 14: Dana Robinson 6’9”.
July 26: Hole 4: Neil Mackey 18’8”; Hole 7: Kirk Goodman 3’10” ; Hole 12: Sean Mulgrew 2’6; Hole 14: Ray Bayette 2’9”.
This year’s Dud Phinney Tournament included a competition called a “Horse Race.” The results were: Win – Jeff Mcdonough and Greg Streeter; Place – Bob Cameron and Carey Scates; Show – Dana Robinson and Bob Reilly.
Tournament organizers recognized as the Walt Moser Daily Point Total: Friday – 12 Paul Lengyel and Ross Lengyel; Saturday – 15 Pete Mulgrew and Sean Mulgrew; and Sunday – 12.5 Bill Laberge and Bob Kellogg.
