Bristol weighs in on $3 million firehouse bond
BRISTOL — For several years Bristol has been looking for a solution to the problem posed by its deteriorating, century-old firehouse.
In an election on Tuesday, residents approved a $3.19 million bond for a new a new firehouse by a tally of 415-140.
Architects have designed an 11,000-square-foot facility to be built by local businessman Kevin Harper on a site off West Street. Upon completion, the town plans to purchase the building and a 9.03-acre parcel of land through the $3.19 million bond.
