Many Tigers shine for Twin State lacrosse teams
HANOVER, N.H. — Middlebury Union High School all-star lacrosse players made their presence felt on Saturday, when Vermont seniors split two Twin-State games with their counterparts from New Hampshire.
Most notably, five Tigers combined for four goals and three assists as Vermont edged New Hampshire in the boys’ game, 15-14. Attacker Connor Quinn led the way with two goals and an assist, while defender Austin Robinson made two long runs for scores. Midfielder Cullen Hathaway and defender Justin Stone also each picked up assists.
Midfielder Bobby Ritter also took the field for Vermont, which prevailed when Champlain Valley’s Elliot Mitchell and South Burlington’s Cam Nolting scored late goals to erase a 14-13 New Hampshire lead.
There was less drama in the girls’ game, as New Hampshire bolted to a quick, 4-0 lead and coasted to a 21-9 victory. Tiger attacker Emily Kiernan was one of three Vermont players who tied for the team goal lead with two scores, and midfielder Julia Rosenberg also competed for Vermont.
