OV golf finishes sixth in state tourney
KILLINGTON — The Otter Valley Union High School golf team this past Thursday finished sixth in Division II at the Green Mountain National Golf Club at Killington.
OV carded a collective 427, just behind fellow Southern Vermont teams Mill River (411) and Woodstock (417).
The three Northern teams dominated the event, with Lyndon (325) posting a 23-stroke win over Rice (348) to win the title, followed by Harwood (393).
Thomas Kingsley led OV by firing a 91, followed by Colin Nicklaw (104), Eric Laughlin (110) and Josef Scarborough (122). OV the week before had become one of the three Southern teams to qualify for a berth in the state tournament.
Mill River’s Johann Russell shot a 76 to become the D-II medalist. Fair Haven independent Caleb Larson shot a 100.
